The Veterans Memorial Medical Center
(formerly known as Veterans Memorial Hospital) was
established in 1955 with full US Governmentassistance under the US Veterans
Administration to provide
quality hospitalization, medical care and treatment to Filipino veterans as provided
by U.S. public law. The patients were originally those who suffer from
service-connected disabilities arising from their services with the USAFFE, recognized guerrilla units, Philippine Scouts, and Philippine Commonwealth Army, which was later extended to AFP retirees
and their dependents.

Mission

to provide service in the diagnosis, care and
treatment of patients with psychiatric and/or emotional disorders.

to furnish treatment, consultations and
diagnosis upon request of other services of psychiatric conditions of patients
in the ward under their supervision; secure treatment from other services as
required for patients under supervision and participate in staff conferences on
such cases of special interest.
·
to train in clinical areas in a general hospital
set up along the specialty of psychiatry and psychology for residents; medical
interns and students; undergraduate and postgraduate students in nursing and
the behavioral sciences.

to be an integral part of the community health
